The main areas of business are tourism, manufacturing and the creative industries.
Agriculture is also big business with 40% of Scotland's Class 1 Agricultural land being in Angus. It is home to the Angus cattle breed, world renowned for their delicious beef. Angus also produces 28% of Scotland's potatoes.
A number of major firms have already found the county to be a cost-effective alternative to Aberdeen for serving the North Sea, with industry leaders such as Halliburton, Merpro, Vetco Gray, and Petrofac Training all having operations here.
Engineering firms, food processors and a wide range of manufacturers continue to flourish throughout the area.
The three business parks in the area are Kirkton Industrial Estate in Arbroath, Brechin Business Park in Brechin and Orchardbank Business Park in Forfar. Land and property is still competitively priced and there are first class travel links to the rest of Scotland.
