Situated on the beautiful Clyde Coast, North Ayrshire covers an area of about 340 square miles, has a population of nearly 140,000 people and includes the popular islands of Arran and the two Cumbraes.

North Ayrshire includes a number of medium sized towns such as Largs, Kilbirnie, Beith, Dalry, Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Steveston, as well as the larger town of Irvine, which is a Royal Burgh and was once the home of poet Robert Burns.
