Glasgow is known as ‘The Dear Green Place’ and after visiting the city you’ll understand why. There are over 70 parks within the city boundaries and a City Woodland Initiative is underway to protect the city’s many trees.

Glasgow was the UK’s City of Architecture and Design in 1999 and its architecture is an attraction in its own right. The city combines impressive Victorian industrial and commercial buildings with Italianate civic buildings and of course, the Art Nouveau style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Glasgow’s most famous architect.
