Celebrating North Lanarkshire’s industrial past is the 22-acre Summerlee Heritage Park in Coatbridge.
Standing on the site of the former Summerlee Ironworks the Heritage Park lets you experience going down a coalmine and seeing the inside of a coalminer’s cottage. You can ride a tram and marvel at their collection of working machinery.
One of the most popular open spaces for people living in or visiting North Lanarkshire is Strathclyde Country Park.
There are facilities for sunbathing, sailing, cycling, bird watching and water skiing. Everything you need for a perfect day out, including a huge fairground with the world’s first spinning roller coaster, is here.
