East Lothian Council has an Economic Development Division that seeks to promote industry and commerce by helping new and existing businesses to set up and expand.
The council works closely with Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian delivering the Business Gateway scheme for new businesses. Existing businesses are also offered a service by the Business Gateway advisers. There are loans and grants available for companies that want to invest and expand their operations. Other services include business health checks and marketing assistance.
