One of the greatest draws to South Ayrshire is the area’s connection with Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet.

Burns was born in the village of Alloway in 1759 and South Ayrshire is packed full of places associated with him. In fact, while you’re in South Ayrshire it is hard to find a place that does not bear testimony to the popularity of this poet.

Visit the Burns National Heritage Park to discover Burns Cottage and museum, Burns Monument, the Brig O'Doon, the haunted Kirk Alloway and the Tam O'Shanter Experience visitor centre.
