There are several forms of funding which are available from the Scottish Government and its partners. Whether you are an existing business, a start-up or developing an innovative product, one of the following could be for you.
Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) is a national grant scheme administered by the Scottish Government. It is aimed at encouraging investment and job creation in specific areas of Scotland. Businesses of all sizes can apply for RSA, whether they are Scottish-owned or owned or headquartered outside Scotland. For further information visit: www.rsascotland.gov.uk
Innovation – The Scottish Government offers a range of Innovation support schemes to encourage small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop new products and processes. These are national schemes that operate across the whole of Scotland. The schemes have different criteria for support but are open to all SMEs who have or intend to have a business location in Scotland. Business Gateway – If you're aged between 18 and 30, and want to start your own business, then you might be eligible for a grant of up to £1,000. Those with full rights of free movement within the European Union and those who have 2 years' leave to remain on the Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme are also eligible to apply. Business Gateway can also provide a whole range of information including advice on finance, taxes, employing people, sales and marketing and much more to those who are starting or expanding their business.
Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) – If you are setting up your own business and are between 18-25 years old (or up to 30 with a disability) you may be eligible for a grant of up to £1,000 and a loan of up to £5,000 at 4% interest. Those with full rights of free movement within the European Union and those who have 2 years' leave to remain on the Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme are also eligible to apply.
