Saurabh moved from Delhi in India in September 2004 to study at The University of Abertay Dundee. Saurabh gained his Master of Science in Biotechnology with Distinction in November 2005 and hasn't looked back.
Securing employment under the fresh talent scheme he is now happily developing his career in Research working within the very University at which he took his research training.
Saurabh has settled well in Scotland, he got his foot on his career ladder firstly as a research assistant in the department of Surgery & Molecular Oncology. Impressed by his skills and enthusiasm his employer proposed his name for a PhD position. Saurabh is currently working towards enhancing his skills by working as one of the research support staff in the department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience.
Saurabh praised the help and advice that he received from The Relocation advisory service. He is grateful to have secured the opportunity to work in Scotland and suggests that the Scottish Government develop more schemes like Fresh Talent to encourage employers to take advantage of the broad range of skills that International candidates can offer. He feels that it should be made easier for employers to offer International candidates long-term employment, which would prove beneficial to both parties.
Saurabh says: "Scotland is a very beautiful country with nice friendly people who appreciate talent. I intend to do my PhD to refine my skills and contribute more effectively to the research field. I hope to complete my PhD in Scotland.
"I would definitely recommend Scotland and the fresh talent scheme to International students wanting to progress in their chosen careers. Scotland is a place that can amaze anyone interested in nature, with its scenic landscapes, beautiful highlands, lush green meadows and spectacular beaches."
