The rail (train) network is privately owned in the UK.There are many different companies who provide a rail service (see links below).
First ScotRail runs many of the rail services within Scotland, but different train operators run trains between Scottish cities and England.
Glasgow has an Underground rail service and an extensive commuter train network.
Edinburgh also has a growing commuter train network.
