Employers' Toolkit

The Business Team of the Relocation Advisory Service has updated the Employers' Toolkit (PDF, 4MB) which we hope you will find helpful.  It describes in some detail the new Points Based System (and the 5 Tiers) for immigration and the key points for businesses which are hoping to employ a non-UK citizen.  It should also be useful for public organisations which would like a basic understanding of the employment of international workers.

The document is 27 pages long but is broken down into manageable sections: for example we have three "Factsheets" on the employment of European Economic Area workers; and others which clarify each of the new Tiers in turn, explaining how individuals can work for employers if they obtain the relevant visa, including the hours which international students are allowed to work if they have valid leave in Tier 4.

The document also contains a table of "categories of leave" on page 27 and direct web links to the appropriate sections of the UK Border Agency's website.
