If there's one thing Scots love, it's to shop! So just in time for the holidays we have chosen our top five places to shop in Scotland.
Glasgow's Buchanan Street and surrounding areas are known worldwide for their large range of shopping facilities and coffee shops for breaks in-between - all in walking distance. Stores range from high street favourites such as HMV, Warehouse and Urban Outfitters to unique boutiques like Joy, Fifi & Ally and Tatty Bon.
During the holidays you can find an ice skating rink and lots of free fun activities in nearby George Square.
Shopping in Edinburgh isn't for the fainthearted. Scotland’s capital city provides the opportunity to shop in Multrees walk, which houses the likes of Harvey Nichols, Emporio Armani, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry and Kurt Geiger. Then there are unique one off places such as Valvona & Crolla for specialist food & wines and Romanes & Paterson for true Scottish goods and Scotland's oldest department store, Jenners.
During the festive season, you can find the city centre lit up with a skating rink, ferris wheel and German market.
The House of Bruar is located in Perthshire and is widely acknowledged as Scotland's most prestigious independent store and the Home of Country Clothing. Offering high quality Scottish goods such as knitwear, tweed clothing and the best of British and Scottish produce for sale and served in their food hall.
Falls of Shins is a Harrods owned shop based near Lairg in Sutherland, about an hour north of Inverness. Surrounded by a glorious view of the Highlands, Falls of Shin is comprised of forest walks and waterfalls. They also have an extensive gift shop which sells local, Scottish, Exclusive and unique products, as well as items straight from Harrods.
Take a ferry ride to the Isle of Arran where along with a quaint feel and beautiful scenery, you'll find the home of Arran Aromatics and the lovely people and pallets of microbrewers at the Arran Brewery. Arran Aromatics create luxury bath and body products using available natural ingredients and are made on the island.
About half a mile down the road you will find the wonderful gifts, tastings and tours of the Arran Brewery. The brewery produces three regular cask and bottled beers and several seasonal special brews.
