Emma Pullman from Nova Scotia:
"The culture (namely the pub culture) and also the friendliness of
people is very similar as it is in Nova Scotia. I have been amazed at
how nice the people here are. I have met people on the street and asked
for directions and they have offered to walk me or even drive me to the
place I am looking for!"
Robin Sutherland, 21, from northern Ontario:
"I would consider living in Scotland after graduation because it’s
a beautiful country. The atmosphere is similar to Canada, kind of rural
parts and nice cities close to so many great European countries. Also
my family are originally from Scotland."
Julia Maclead, 21, from Kingston Ontario:
"The most fun I've had since I came to Scotland was going to my
first ceilidh! I had no idea what I was doing, but it was so much fun!"
Jackie Bonisteel, 21, from Ottawa:
"If you're looking to spend time abroad, Scotland is a great
choice. The language and similar culture makes it an easy place for
Canadians to get accustomed to, but it definitely offers a unique
experience. You'll meet a ton of great people who will help broaden
your outlook on the world."
David Gardonio:
"My advice would be to just try it if they are thinking about it.
It might seem a little crazy to travel overseas for education, but it
really is an amazing experience. You will get to meet people from
all over Europe and the wonderful Scottish, as well!"
Mathew Howell from Ontario:
"The thing I love the most about Scotland is the laid back,
humorous attitude of all the people. Although things are pretty easy
going at home, it’s not quite the same here. I love to just chat with a
group of Scottish people over a pint some days and to just hear them
tell stories and joke around."
"I also love the history that goes along with Scotland. Like I said before, we don't have a lot of that at home in Canada. It constantly amazes me about all the things that have gone on here and that are still happening."
Kelly Christine, 24, from Bracebridge Ontario:
"Before I leave I'd like to see the Highlands, go rock climbing and eat a deep fried Mars Bar!"
