Having overcome many difficulties in pursuing her career, Geraldine has now secured the job of her dreams in Scotland.
Having originally visited Scotland as a nanny with her previous employers, she fell in love with the country and accepted their offer to assist with her study costs when the family relocated to Scotland.
Not only did Geraldine successfully complete her course at Glasgow Caledonian University. Her graduation was made more exciting by the School of the Built Environment Best Student in MSc Waste Management Award being presented to her.
Armed with her MSc in Waste Management, and her Fresh Talent Visa Geraldine's talents were soon spotted and she took the first step in her chosen career at the Sustainability Centre in Glasgow as a Project Assistant. The bulk of her work revolved around 'Promoting Sustainable Business Competitiveness in Construction SMEs'.
After only six months Geraldine was delighted to accept promotion to Project Co-ordinator and Academic Researcher of The Sustainability Centre in Glasgow.
Geraldine finds the Scottish people to be warm and friendly.
Living on the outskirts of the city, near Loch Lomond, enables her to take advantage of the wonderful scenery on her commute into work.
When asked if she had any special memories of Scotland Geraldine says:
"The morning of 25 December 2004. My first experience of snow, a white Christmas in a fairytale setting."
