Mridul came to Scotland in 2004 to complete a Masters degree in Training and Development at Edinburgh University.

This is a career move that she has found interesting, stimulating and makes good use of her degree. Although she feels homesick at times, Mridul is impressed by the warmth and friendliness and of the Scottish people.
She admires their commitment to making Scotland a good place to live for everyone. Mridul enjoys Scottish Music and has made many friends here.
She says: "I work essentially with women from Black and Minority Ethnic Communities who are experiencing domestic abuse.
"My work requires me to go out in the wider community to offer training to voluntary and statutory sector staff and those in the community with the prospect of raising awareness about the barriers placed on minority ethnic women who experience domestic abuse by the governing system and their culture.
"I simply love to spend a sunny day in Stirling looking out at the view from the Wallace monument. I think ceilidhs are the most fabulous form of entertainment and are the highlight of my life in Scotland."
