About North East Scotland

North East Scotland is one of the most prosperous places in Scotland. In fact, the region’s main city, Aberdeen, is the UK’s most competitive city after London.

There are around 440,000 people living in North East Scotland – that’s 8.7% of Scotland’s total population – and the population is growing faster than the national average.

North East Scotland has outstanding scenery. To the west the Grampian Mountains dominate the skyline and to the north and east there are miles of golden sands and stunning coastline.
